Los Angeles 411: Raging Waters in San Dimas, California

Only someone from Southern California would post a blog about a water park in the beginning of February.  I realize that many of you live in areas where you are looking out over frozen bodies of water.  However, winter will pass before we know it and it will once again be time to engage in summer activities, many of which include water, so here is a fun place to consider if you decide to take a summer vacation to Southern California.

Raging Waters is located San Dimas, in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County.  Raging Waters is one of California's largest water parks, located 30 minutes East of Downtown LA.

Guests of all ages can choose from a collection of wave pools, including one called “The Dive-In Movie”, where you can float and ride the waves on rafts and inner tubes while watching a movie on the large screen.

There are water slides of all sorts, including a sixty-foot water slide called, “Drop Off”, which only the bravest water fans will attempt.

There are many themed water attractions, such as “Volcano Fantasea” and “Splash Island”.

One of the newer additions to Raging Waters in San Dimas is a roller coaster type ride called “High Extreme”, which gives any dry land roller coaster a run for its money.

If you get hungry from all those water activities, there are themed restaurants and food stands galore, such as “Sharkeys Seaside Grill”.

So if your summer plans include a vacation to Southern California, plan to visit Raging Waters in San Dimas, and plan on having some outRAGEous family fun.

Raging waters is located at 111 Lakeside Rd, San Dimas, CA 91773, phone number (909) 802-2200.  Months and hours of operation are from May through September, 10am  to 7pm, Monday through Sunday.

Ralph, I suspect you have more than one person dreaming of a visit--or a move--to southern California. We're pretty spoiled being able to enjoy outdoor activities all year round.

Ralph, I agree with Lottie's comment ... we are pretty spoiled with warm temps most all year round. The issue we have now, as you know, is a drought emergency. I hope we get some rain before Winter ends.

Raging Waters looks like an excellent family travel destination. This is a week of ice and snow in Maryland and many are dreaming of warm weather.

Ralph,

Was Raging Waters the park that was in Bill and Ted's Big Adventure?  Just wondering...

Ralph, I just hope you get more snow and rain in California this winter to alleviate your terrible drought conditions!  I wonder if Governor Brown and the California legislature will end up having to curtail business hours of water parks like Raging Waters?

Actually, somebody from Florida would post this too, but you are correct, other than Hawaii, we are the only states that think about water parks in February!

Hi Ralph: Guffaws. We could have that raging water for a skating rink or sledding now. High Extreme would be extremely... insane. It could be fun. But someone has to bribe me before I could take the plunge.

Raging Waters sounds like a lot of fun. I like the Dive In Movies. A water park here would be for ice skating for sure.
