2013 EverGreen Recipients ~ NAR Green Resource Council.
Every year a handful of outstanding NAR Green Designees are selected by an independent panel to receive the Green Resource Councils EverGreen Awards.
The Green REsource Council was established by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council, REBAC and a subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS® and has announced the five recipients of the 2013 EverGreen Award.
Rob Larson (Green Industry Advocate)
Brenda Nunes (Instructor)
Brenda Nunes, Keller Williams Eastside, Kirkland, Wash.
Brenda Nunes brings 15 years of environmental and geotechnical consulting industry experience to her work at Keller Williams. She serves as an advocate, educator, and mentor for green real estate topics and has been a NAR Green instructor since 2008.
Eileen Oldroyd, Mission Viejo, Calif.
Eileen Oldroyd likely is best known for her unique car, the Veggie Mobile. It's an old Mercedes that her husband converted to run on vegetable oil. As the 2013 chair of the Orange County Association of REALTORS® Green Task Force, she's working on a slate of projects, including field trips to zero-waste housing developments, a paper shredding event, and strategies for slashing OCAR's paper consumption
Craig Foley, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Sommerville, Mass.
Craig Foley is Chief of Energy Solutions at RE/MAX Leading Edge and is the go-to green source for the company's nearly 200 practitioners in 12 offices to answer questions about sustainability and homes. He analyzes the 12 offices' energy consumption and sets goals for lowering the company's carbon footprint
Mel Harris, Elements Realty, Fort Worth, Tex.
Mel Harris was that green sustainable advocate at the Greater Fort Worth Association of REALTORS®. When he was president of GFWAR he advocated for an aggressive reduction in paper consumption by asking participants at executive meetings and board of director meetings to use iPads, tablets or laptops. Such efforts are a key focus for Harris, who spends time educating clients about green strategies and energy efficient mortgages.
Rob Larson, California Regional MLS
Rob Larson does the complicated behind-the-scenes work to ensure that the real estate industry has access to reliable, consistent data on sustainable homes. He was one of the key members who developed the Green MLS Toolkit in 2008. More recently he worked with the GRC in developing a Green MLS Implementation Guide to help MLS staff or their software system vendors to implement Green MLS fields successfully.
