To shovel or not to shovel
When it snows and we know it's going to be just snow, no rain or sleet mixed it either during or after the snows stops, we shovel. Some of us just can't wait for the snow to stop before we get outside and shovel. No problem with that at all. Most of us just wait for the snow to stop and then we shovel. Is there a better way when we have a mix of snow, sleet and rain?
I think when we have say 3 or 4 inches of snow, then frozen rain or even just rain on top of the snow, it's better to wait for the rain to stop before we shovel. Here's why I say that.
Rain on top of snow makes a crust of ice at the top of the snow. It's easier to shovel what way then to have the ice on the pavement, then it's just ice. Can't shovel ice.
Left side untouched, right side shoveled and salted.

Often, when we have precipitation in mixed forms, we get colder nights and more ice.
So, what are your thoughts about this?
