After Charlotte hosts the Democratic Convention, then what?

There’s more to Charlotte than the colonial style homes and tree-lined neighborhoods. In 2012, we hosted the Democratic National Convention. One of the things I love about living in Charlotte is its growing reputation as a great place to host big events. The free concerts held downtown were a blast, with famous figures from both Hollywood and politics greeting the public. And yes, I held on to the great pictures I took of Jeff “The Dude” Bridges when he and his band took the stage.

In addition to NASCAR and football, we’re also becoming a major sports venue. The Charlotte Observer has a story about an upcoming match between two top teams in the English Premier League, which is part of the Guinness International Champions Cup tournament. Charlotte will be a major stop for this globetrotting competition. The two teams will face each other at the Bank of America Stadium, the home of the Charlotte Panthers.

Round one will match Manchester versus Liverpool. Should be exciting! So which city will I root for: the home of the Bee Gees or the home of the Beatles?
