Losing Electricity in Baltimore can happen when we have an ice storm, resulting in trees crashing to the ground and taking the power lines down with them.
And yes, it happened to over 49,000 of us in Baltimore County on Wednesday, over 85,000 in the service area of our power company.
As of 10am this morning, there are still almost 16,000 customers without power.
Many of the streets are now OK, so the trucks may be able to get to these power lines. Unfortunately, until this point, a few streets were impassable.
We only lost power for about 24 hours. We were some of the lucky ones.
I have never been so grateful for electricity. This lamp's light makes me more and more grateful!
If you have lost electricity in Baltimore, and still haven't gotten it back, please make sure to check with BGE that they have your outage reported. The system wasn't updating even yesterday, so call and speak with a person.
Stay warm!
