Second Saturdays in Downtown Tucson - Welcoming KXCI FM

Real Estate Agent with Las Cruces Homes and Land

We, as an office, have more fun when we participate in Downtown Tucson's monthly street festival called 2nd Saturday. You can count on at least 15,000 of our neighbors coming down to stroll Congress Street to shop, eat and watch the great bands and performers.

From our vantage point, and great store front, we knew early on that there weren't going to be too many people who wanted to talk real estate during a street party. Some do but most don't. So, instead of just sitting in our office watching the world go by, we started a tradition last summer - we open up our office to a local non-profit organization and let them 'take over'.  We've hung out with Honor Flight of Southern Arizona, The Hearth Foundation, Unscrewed Comedy troupe and myTeam Triumph of Southern Arizona -

That's our storefront - we have a garage door that we roll up that offers a ton of space for our non profit friends.

This month, we're kicking off our 2014 Non Profit Of The Month with our favorite radio station, KXCI 91.3 FM. They are a community station and you know how we love supporting our local friends!

Established in 1976, the station serves Tucson with local programming and features music by our wonderful local musicians. This is volunteer radio at its finest and, quite honestly, the way radio should be. As a 20 year radio veteran, listening to KXCI brings back the way radio was when I first got my start - focused on the community, supporting local businesses and involving the listener by giving them the programming and music they want to hear.

This Saturday, 2/8/14, they'll be set up at around 3pm with their prize wheel, information on the station and volunteer opportunities as well as info on how YOU can become an underwriter to help keep the station going strong. We hope you'll stop by if you're in downtown Tucson!

I'm just hoping that the radio bug doesn't bite me again - once it's in your blood, it's hard to get rid of it!
