Key Economic Data:
No News Items Today

Advice:
Treasury 10-year note yields traded in the tightest range in a month amid speculation whether Federal Reserve Chairman Janet Yellen will acknowledge that the recovery in the U.S. labor market is slowing. Bill rates were little changed as the U.S. prepared to sell record amounts of three- and six-month securities, giving it greater flexibility after last weeks expiration of an agreement that suspended the nations debt limit. The Treasury said it will run out of extraordinary measures keeping it under its borrowing limit on Feb. 27. Yellen, who was sworn in as the central-bank head on Feb. 3, will deliver her first monetary policy report to Congress tomorrow following data last week showing the U.S. added fewer jobs than economists forecast. What she can do is redirect what the Fed is focusing on, said Tom Tucci, managing director and head of Treasury trading in New York at CIBC World Markets Corp. The market is expecting something positive to keep the tone underpinned in here.

My position on MBS
Short term Neutral.
Long term changes to Neutral
I had expected the economy to start to pick up by now.

Market Commentary (Dan Rawitch)

No news today and the treasuries are flat. They did open, up 5/32nds, but have since given up the small gains. The MBS charts are down at the moment and I need to head out to catch a flight.

I would expect to move sideways throughout the day and will report back to tomorrow. It is a quiet news week, which will give the market a chance to adjust and hopefully build some steam.
