Local Business Profile - Welcome to Texoma
With this blog, my intent is for more than simply have a place to post information about listings. The intent is to contribute to local businesses in the Texoma region including Wichita Falls, Burkburnett, Iowa Park, Henrietta, Archer City, Windthorst, Scotland TX, etc. There is a place for large international conglomerates and small, local businesses in a vibrant economy. The Texoma region has a wonderful community, friendly people and a spirit of service making this the community we decided to settle and make our home after retiring from the Air Force. This is the first Local Business Profile, of what I hope will become many. What better way to start, than to highlight a business who's focus is connecting new residents with local businesses and attractions.
Last week, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Sally Gray, president and owner of Welcome to Texoma, "Bringing Greetings from Area Merchants & Vendors Directly to you!"
Sally has been welcoming people to Texoma since the year 2000 when she bought the business. She is a member of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce, Henrietta and Clay County Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau.

The picture to the right is Sally welcoming a new business to the area, Hale Multimedia. Sally will come to a home or office welcoming people to the area and informing about local businesses. She doesn't sell, but delivers a basket full of information, coupons, maps, and brochures about local businesses and attractions she has used and experienced. She also has information on museums, parks & recreation and seasonal activities spanning from Burkburnett, Iowa Park, Wichita Falls, Henrietta and more.

Sally says her goal is to get people connected to local businesses and connected to their interests. For example, if a family is new to town and their children are interested in sports, she will connect them with the local sports clubs.
She does much more than just tell people about what is available here, which is an important part of her mission. Sally is also a great listener, and says one of the most enjoyable parts of her visits is to listen to the vast and varied stories about why people chose to move here.
Sally says the "art of visitation isn't practiced very much anymore." And she has made it her mission to extend the warm hospitality of Texoma by reviving this art.
