New Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen says the economy is improving but we still have a ways to go. Yellen appeared before the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday. It was her first trip to the hill since being confirmed. The hearing addressed issues including a shift in the housing market

What do you think? Is there a shift back into the cities? I know in my area a lot of people are kicking the long commute to the curb.

Yellen is not going to tell you anything let alone the truth. People, through government manipulation have been moving people back to the cities for at least 8 years now. Yellen is the same as Bernake. They are doing the buiness for the very big money people. The Bank of Business and Settlements makes all final decision out of Switzerland. Jusst look them up, it is called the BIS. We are so intellectually challenged.

There is definitely a culture of people who prefer walking, bicycling, instead of driving for all sorts of reasons -- and urban living makes that easy and interesting for them.  So yes!

Paula:

I have seen this as well. Not that it's something I needed the Fed Chair to tell me but I thought it was interesting that she mentioned it.

The item that needs more effort is figuring out how to bring back jobs that enable families to buy a house. So far its not working.

I agree. It's why a lot of younger people are delaying their home purchasing until later. We need those young buyers to make the market stable.
