You have the greatest Web App on the planet? Um, then whyThose of us in the real estate profession get these kinds of phone calls every day:

“Would you like to have more business?” Before you even have time to proffer a response the very next line is something akin to:

“Are you near a computer right now?”

Yes, it’s another one of those sales calls for the latest and greatest Internet service or application, without which my business will not survive.

As soon as I am allowed to speak I often put forward this observation:

You have the greatest Web App on the planet? Um, then why are you calling me on the telephone?

“If it’s a great as you claim, wouldn’t I have found it on my own and contacted you? After all, you claim to have millions of visitors so it would seem likely that I might stumble upon your website on my own!”

Most of those sales calls are just scams anyway.  I typically do not even answer when some weird out of state phone number calls me anymore.  95% of the time it is a telemarketer.

Good for you Richard.

I wouldn't have gotten that far because as soon as they were identified as a sales call, the phone receiver would be laying on the floor.

I'm a southern lady so I don't hang up on folks.

My favorite is when someone fills out the online contact form on my site and tells me that they couldn't find my site for my keywords!  First, they don't know my keywords and second... looks like they found it somehow.

Richard, Cold calling me to pitch a service is about a 99.999% waste of time for the caller.  I try to get them off the phone and on to their search for a sucker I mean client as quickly as possible.

Richard, I'm laughing so hard I'm getting stomach muscle cramps! So true... Had one of those "We can make you #1 on Google!" calls the other day. I asked, how'd you find me? Nuff' said. ;O)

I get the calls that will put on the from page of google and when I ask them if they have looked there yet they usually hang up.

I have learned the sound of the caller and just say thank you for the call and hang up. Why waste anymore of their time or mine. they are just trying to make a buck.
