Huntsville Alabama Snow

Yesterday and through last night Huntsville Alabama got a little snow, something that we don't see very often.  It was only 3"-5", but enough to close schools and businesses throughout the Northern Alabama area.  Many heavily traveled, major and local roads were closed to aid salting/sanding and for safety reasons (officials say Huntsville has at least two snow plows, however, I've lived here eight years and don't remember seeing one yet).  There are many hills and winding roads in the area that make traveling dangerous especially to those not familiar driving on icy roads, so keeping drivers off the streets is a good idea.

By the time I got into the office this morning the snow melt was in progress, but thought I'd drive through the Village of Providence where my office is located, hopefully to catch a few good photos...I don't know how good they are but I did get a few.  Depending on where the sun was shining and traffic, snow is in various stages of disappearing.

The two photos above are typical of what's left over from last nights snow.

Above; the photo on the left is one of the Village's parks across from the Town Homes below.  The photo on the right is another common area with walking paths and a view of the new Phase 8 currently being developed in the Village of Providence.  These new Phase 8 homes will be courtyard and bluff view homes.  Forty nine lots are being developed with several reserved, but great lots are still available...call me for information about the remaining lots.

The above photo is an example of town homes in the Village.  There are none currently available, however I will be taking a listing soon on one of these.  The owner has expanded the living space to approximately 2,500 square feet.  If you think Town Home living is for you, this home is worth a look.  HOA fees include: Common grounds maintenance, clubhouse, pool and basic TV/cable.

Hi, Nick...I think your photos are great. They really show what's going on. The park pictures really show a lot of snow. Stay safe on those icy roads, and I hope you warm up soon.

Mel-the Village of Providence is probably my favorite community.

Hannah-I don't think that's something that was ever addressed only because we get so little snow.

Chris Ann-you guys have had your share of snow.

Gene-I just talked with a buddy of mine in Chicago and he said you've already had 5' of snow!  It has been a crazy winter there.

Debbie-thank you. It's going to be in the upper 50's this weekend.

Nick, great pictures o your quaint, colonial-looking area.  I enjoy seeing the snow melting in various stages, something that we cannot capture in Southern California.

I was thinking the same as some of the other comments - I wish we had similar pictures! We just got the call...school is canceled again tomorrow. I am sure you heard the scream of all the parents from Richmond way down there in Alabama!

Ralph-I guess that's the price you pay for living in paradise.

George-nail on the head!

Shannon-I did and like wise.

Joe-good morning to you...your area has been hit hard this year, but yes, it's all good an we will get past it.

Gabe-yes, the sooner it melts and we get back to business...the better!  The last few days have been such a waste of time with all the closings.

Nick, we came down I65 today and saw the remnants of the storm. It was feeling really warm and the sun was shining bright. It will be gone in the morning.

Nick, it boggles my mind that your Providence Alabama area had snow.  Fortunately, it melts off quickly so not a lot of back breaking shoveling.
