Snow Ice Cream

Growing up I couldn't wait for the second snow fall to happen. It meant not only we would have the day off but my mom would make snow ice cream. Don't ask me why we had to wait for the second snow fall. It was always my mom's rule.

With this latest snow fall in Southern Maryland, it had me thinking about this frozen delights so I dug up a recipe.

1 gallon  of snow

1cup of sugar

2 cups of milk

1 Tablespoon of vanilla

Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and stir to desired consistency.  Keep in the freezer if you have any left!

It's not the healthiest thing on earth far from it but it is fun to make.

Never even dreamed there was a snow recipe to make a form of ice cream. I can imagine how a child might enjoy this. As children, I recall using snow in our old wooden ice cream maker to keep all the ingredients cold while turning the crank of the machine. Dang, that was tasty ice cream!!
