Experience Spring at Pennsylvania Garden Expo February 21 – 23
Experience Spring blooms a few weeks early at the Pennsylvania Garden Expo which will be held Friday, February 21 through Sunday, February 23 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.
It’s the largest resource in Central Pennsylvania for garden enthusiasts. Attendees can get landscape and exterior design ideas, view garden art, and see a robotic mower and goats that manicure lawns. Over a dozen local landscapers and are building 40,000 square feet of gardens filled with plants that are forced into bloom early. Many of them have elaborate water features, boulders, paver patios and stone retaining walls.
The Do-It-Yourself Stage is very popular.
Educational seminars will be held on various subjects such as lawn care, pools, structures, how to grow herbs and other plants, build a fire pit, create a container garden, and how to attract bees.
Some 150 vendors will set up in the “marketplace.” Some are clubs and information-providers, but most are selling items such as metal trellises, orchids, cut willows, bonsai supplies, herbal gifts, fertilizer and plant hangers up to larger items such as outdoor power equipment, outdoor furniture and greenhouses.
General Admission tickets are available at the door for $13. Discount advance tickets are available for just $10 at www.pagardenexpo.org. On Friday February 21 from 5-8pm, all active military, veterans, fire fighters, police and first responders will be admitted for free. All other
