A Must Have iPhone App For Listing Photos

If anybody else watches Shark Tank, you might have seen this one on there. I am always looking out for cool new apps whether for business or personal use.

A couple of weeks ago they featured this app on Shark Tank and I had to download it to try it out. It is called Cycloramic. It is a paid app, but well worth the couple of bucks for the download.

What you do is this: You open the app and it accesses your camera, you push the capture button as if you were taking a picture, then you stand the camera on its bottom end on a hard surface like tile or wood, the app will then take a series of photos and by using the vibration feature of the phone it turns itself up to 360 degrees (you tell it how far to turn).

Once it has completed the cycle and taken all of the photos, it stitches them together and creates a video. It is pretty cool.

You can take 365 degree photos without worrying about hands shaking, seeing your reflection in the windows and mirrors (a pet peeve of mine). When you stat the app you get a timer which allows your 12 seconds to set the camera down and step out of sight.

Below is a very short one I did when I downloaded the app, imagine how effective it could be with the proper lighting and a properly staged room.

Cheryl- thanks for reading. That's one thing I like about it, since you're not holding it it is very smooth.

Downloading it now, I use a professional DSLR camera for MLS pictures but to do a video of a really nice room this would be great. Thanks.

Stefan ~ true, the iPhone can not compare with the quality of a good DSLR camera for photo quality (which is hugely important) but I do like having all the tools I can in my proverbial tool box. Let us know how you like it after using it!  Thanks!

What a great little ap, you get a 360 without all the jostling and awkwardness of trying to do it without a tripod.

Cool!! Gonna hafta go check it out now - don't care for 360 degree panoramas, but a smaller scan like you did is fine.

THANKS!

Travis, I agree with you, I like the short pans better, just having something a little different sometimes makes all the difference.

Thanks Kevin,  I checked the reviews and it sounds like it works best on the Iphone5 or 5S.  I may check it out once I update my phone.

Brian, It works great on the 5 for sure. Not sure about the 4/4s, I know they made some changes on where certain inner components are mounted between those versions, maybe the virbration was one of them.
