One Tax Break You Might Have Overlooked..Going Green

Here it is tax time for 2013 and everyone is getting their receipts ready for the tax appointment so make sure you have all the receipts for allowable deductions.
We get all our standard deductions ready but have you possibly forgotten any? There are deductions on your state taxes for many upgrades in your home.
Here are a list that you might have forgotten but make sure you have your receipts.
- Dual Paned Windows
- HVAC Unit
- Compressor for HVAC
- Solar Panels
- New Insulation/Ducts
- Tankless Water Heater
- Low-Flow Plumbing Fixtures
There are also many rebates available for the above mentioned items plus for many other upgrades through your electric and gas companies.
New Stove Water Heater, Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer, HVAC, and light fixtures with newer bulbs.
Check your gas and electric companies on-line for particular models/serial numbers before you purchase. Many of the home repairs store will have signs on the item and give you the mail in rebate when you check out.
*I just purchased a new refrigerator and got a rebate of $59 from our electric company, SC Edison. So make sure to check before you buy.
