How to convince someone you are right!

I always thought that if you want to make a point, you should look the other person in the eye.  Evidentally, that might not be the best approach.  These researchers found that too much direct eye contact might actually make someone feel hunted down.

Let me know what you think!

Direct eye contact is almost always appropriate for discussions. Why would someone want the other person to think they are shady or untruthful by avoiding eye contact? But, . . .

The pertinent fact is many people will never be convinced they are wrong. So, Step 1 is deciding if you're talking to one of those folks. If so, stop wasting your time and move forward with your life. Let them think they are right.

If the other person appears to be open-minded, asking them questions that direct them to your way of thinking will often get them to come to their own conclusion that you are right. They get to do all the talking and you still get them to come around. If they don't come around, refer to Step one lol
