Pop-Up in the Park- by Your Bellaire Realtor
Pop-Up in the Park is underway in Bellaire, situated on the soon-to-be developed site of Evelyn’s Park. Pop-Up in the Park is a curated market, showcasing products made or designed locally. The monthly market will feature jewelry, clothing, art and more. It brings to life the creativity of local people who do not the typical storefront. This one-of-a-kind bazaar will serve as a mechanism for bringing the local community together and giving people a great excuse to walk or drive down to Evelyn’s Park for the afternoon.
Bellaire residents are so fortunate to have Evelyn’s Park. When the historic Teas Nursery decided to close late 2009, Bellaire residents, Jerry and Maury Rubenstein, seized the opportunity to save a piece of Bellaire and Houston history by acquiring the 5-acre site with the vision of maintaining a green space in the heart of the city, and to honor their mother Evelyn. The land was donated by the Rubenstein Foundation to the City of Bellaire on the condition that it would be developed as a park, a beautiful, safe and quiet respite for its surrounding communities. We look forward to many community events at this one-of-a-kind location, Pop-Up in the Park is just the beginning!
Pop-Up in the Park will be held the 4th Saturday of each month from 12-4 pm with the next one being February 22, 2014. In addition to vendors, local bands will be invited to perform and food trucks will be serving lunch and snacks. Pop-Up in the Park is more than a market; it’s an occasion the whole family will enjoy!
