This is a follow up to my previous blog concerning the changes in areas eligible for 100% USDA Rural Development financing. At first changes in eligibility were going to occur in January 2014, then October 2014. Now eligible areas in St Mary's, Calvert and Charles Counties have been given a long term reprieve.
President Obama has signed the Farm Bill, the Federal Agricuture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013. One of the provisions of the law extends the current eligible areas for the USDA Rural Development program until 2020, or longer. This means no more annual, or six monthly, worries for you, the Buyers, Sellers, Real Estate Agents and Lenders for several years.
What does this mean for you the Buyer?
You can ask your Real Estate Agent which areas qualify for the 100% financing. Then you will check with a Lender to assure yourself that your income qualifies for the 100% financing.
Now you are ready to go "house hunting"!
