The Question is Do You Have your State Of Nevada Business License

By

There is a deadline approaching. March 1st is the deadline for Nevada Business licenses. I have heard that the Secretary of State is going to take the license holder information from the Real Estate Division and cross reference it against thier business license records and those who are in non compliance will be forwarded to the State Attorney Generals Office to face penalties. These can be as high at $10,000. Wow looks like it could get serious. A recent talk given by NVAR Counsel confirmed this. I wonder once these are filed how many local Jurisdictions have access to this info and will start looking to those doing business in their jurisdiction to come on down and get a license. According to the NVAR Independent contractors do not fall under home based business and are required to comply even though a broken might have the license. Independent means just that, your on your own. You can sing up on the Secretary of States web site. I would say it isn't the easiest site to navigate but once you get going it's not too bad. Set up your profile and you can just log in each your and take care of business.

More info can be found at the Reno/Sparks Association Of Realtors

Hi Rob,

Sounds like the state's business owners need to get in gear or face a hefty fine.

Many states have little or no licensing for the home inspectors. That is bad for the inspectors like me that want to do a very good inspection service.

Have a great weekend in the Reno area.

Best, Clint Mckie

Yes they do. Nevada Home Inspectors and Nevada Energy Auditors like myself have to be licensed. This is done through the Real Estate Division. In addition for all of us have to have a State Business license and the local cities we work in. I know I have at least 7 business licenses. Enjoy the Desert Sun.

VB, It's true, I haven't been posting. I probably should get back at it. I will be coming down there this weekend and in July.
