Headed out West? A Scenic Drive in Evergreen, Colorado will give you an overview of mountain living at its best. The Lariat Loop Scenic byway is Colorado's only urban byway is filled with cultural, natural and historic landmarks, and beautiful mountain homes with a view.
Along the way you can visit museums, good entertainment, fabulous cuisine along with plenty of opportunities to hike, bicycling, and picnic. The loop starts out on US6 in Golden, travels upto Lookout Mountain Road, then southwest down to US40 onto I-70 in Genesee. The byway continues on to State Hwy 74 from El Rancho in Evergreen onto Morrison. The Hogback Road continues north to US40 and then Heritage Road in Golden back to US 6. It will take you about 2 hours and runs 40 miles to complete the Lariat Loop. You will not be disappointed.
