“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” ― Edith Sitwell
Yes, Winter has been a bit long and trying at times. But we've gotten through a good part of February, past Valentine's Day and past President's Day. Yet we are still seeing that dreaded white stuff coming down out of the sky and persisting frigid temperatures. Everyone I talk to is screaming for an end to this winter season. For me it has been a challenge showing homes, especially those that haven't been shoveled out and de-iced!
Even with the extreme weather experienced this winter season, the housing market has purred along. The Dutchess County real estate market has weathered the winter with some encouraging stats.

Bulletin!! Spring is next month! Buyers and sellers will be jumping into the marketplace according to REALTOR Mag. This is great news for both buyers and sellers, as there will be more inventory for
buyers to choose from and for sellers, more prospective buyers in the marketplace for those new to market listings.
As I hear people talking about how awful the weather has been, I try to stay focused on the impending warmth and nature's glorious transformation. Spring is my absolute favorite season and I look forward to it every year. It brings such an uplifting feeling of hope along with its rebirth of our beautiful Hudson Valley and Dutchess County.
Here's to looking forward to warmer temperatures and a busy Spring housing market!
