Pink Trumpet Tree(Tabebuia heptaphylla), Flower Tree-Florida Gardening
Scientific name -Tabebuia heptaphylla, Common name - Pink trumpet tree is an outstanding specimen flower tree for your Florida friendly landscaping. The bright gorgeous flowers attracted my attention when I was showing properties at Venetian Falls and Heron Shores.
Pink Trumpet Tree Description
It is not a native to North America. In nature it likes full sun light and it is a fast growing tree – mature tree growth is up to 50 feet as you may see from the picture. The clusters of trumpet shape flowers have five pink petals with yellow in the middle. When the tree is in full bloom from January to March with showy flowers, it loses all the leaves – as a result it is an ornamental tree for your garden. Many developers plant the trees along roads and park setting areas of residential communities.
Tabebuia heptaphylla can be propagated by seed pod or cuttings. It grows best in well-drained soil and is highly drought tolerant, without much concern of infection by any disease. It is a non-invasive plant, and it does not attract wildlife. It does however, require pruning to promote healthy growth to become a strong tree.
