Yeah, yeah, yeah love is in the air
Finding that perfect house for friends can be one of the best feelings I’ve ever had in the real estate business. We have many opportunities in the real estate business to help people with their real estate needs and sometimes problems. Yet one particular home search for several friends still remains one of my favorite moments.
At the height of the real estate boom in the Seattle area I had two friends who wanted to sale both of their individual homes and buy one together. The selling was relatively easy. The challenge was finding the perfect home with style and panache that would suit this professional couple.
He worked was a consultant with most of his work being in Redmond for a large software company and she was employed by a major coffee company with offices just south of downtown. So finding that location in between was the two employment centers was the extremely important.
After several weeks of looking at every home within their sweet spot(s) I saw a home that was located just outside of Seattle but equal distances to both employment centers. The house was a custom architectural Northwest gem. Lots of wood, glass and unique daylighting made this home standout from anything. Else I knew as soon as I saw it, it was the right house. I called my friends and they came out immediately to tour it and feel it love with it.
I talked to the listing agent who I knew and she told me that there would be at least several other offers. My clients had all their proof of funds and lender letters all ready to go. We came in with a big earnest money and all the other supporting documents and got the deal. In a fast moving market most offers were just emailed to the listing agent. I ask to present the offer.
