Released from morning’s chill embrace,
In mustered ranks as scouts to blaze
The path towards Spring in all her grace,
Towards vigor, growth, and longer days!
(R Weisser 2014)
Spring has sprung in the South! Now, I know that my dear friends in the upper Midwest are still dealing with sub-zero temperatures Winter loses its grip early in this part of the country!
That’s not to say that we won’t have any more cold or wintry weather this season. But the natural cycles of our latitude call the early bloomers to muster in late February and early March.
And while we are still two or three weeks until Spring’s “Big Show,” the harbingers indicate that the worst of Winter is behind us!
Mild Winters are a major factor in the explosive growth of the Southeast. Here in the Atlanta area, we have not foregone seasonal changes. We still enjoy glorious Spring and Fall seasons.
But we sent Winter packing away early!
