Spring in the Southeastern United States starts early!

Now, I know that my dear friends in the upper Midwest are still dealing with sub-zero temperatures Winter loses its grip early in this part of the country! That’s not to say that we won’t have any more cold or wintry weather this season. But the natural cycles of our latitude call the early bloomers to muster in late February and early March. And while we are still two or three weeks until Spring’s “Big Show,” the harbingers indicate that the worst of Winter is behind us! Mild Winters are a major factor in the explosive growth of the Southeast. Here in the Atlanta area, we have not foregone seasonal changes. We still enjoy glorious Spring and Fall seasons. Richard, My deck is a solid sheet of ice, icycles hanging from most everything due to the current freezing rain.  Following that is supposed to be more snow of an unknown number of inches.  Staying home and doing whatever I can from here, because ice and driving are just not a good combo.  Bill

Richard - We have the flowers in our yard as well. It makes a cool breeze much more tolerable. Now on to the 70's for today!

Yes, we are about 8 weeks from spring.  maybe.  -5 right now with a -20+ wind chill.

42 inches ov snow on the ground... Maybe by june 1 the ground will be clear.  More snow for later in the week.
