The Florida Strawberry Festival is usually scheduled for around the first week of March in Plant City, Florida and continues for 10 days. The locals of the area had tried for 20 years to create an attraction to promote the strawberry season and were finally successful when it was started by The Lions Club in 1930.
Obviously, strawberries are the main attraction with offerings of strawberry shortcake, strawberry milk shakes, strawberry wine, drinks and strawberry pizza. The festival also consists of numerous rides of all sorts, craft exhibitions, judged art exhibitions, pig races and an unimaginable assortment of foods. Be sure to see an actual creation of a strawberry crop, ready to harvest. The schedule of country entertainers is sure to please. Concerts are scheduled at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. However, the Festival hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Don't forget to purchase your fresh strawberries before you leave Plant City.
