Special offer

The $2mil buyer- CASH

By
Real Estate Agent with Aloha Realty Group

Aloha everybody!

Here is my funny story for this week:

I met this gentleman at his place of business ( cant disclose where:-) When he found out that I am a realtor. he immediately said that he wants to buy a nice place, with a loft and an ocean view. Right after that he said that he has $2mil , cash and he he wants to buy property in this particular complex, where the max price is actually $1,25 mil.  I asked him if he wants two of them:-))) I suggested him to meet me in my office next day. He agreed. He called later that day, stressing the urgency to spend the $2mil. I told him that we need to meet in my office first and we will go see property right after that.

Do you think he showed up?

NOOOOOOOOOO

Did I call him? Yes, I did. He said that he forgot about our meeting....

Thanks God I at least did not make a thousand calls to actually schedule showings. Something told me that this was too good to be true....

Did this ever happen to you?

Honestly I think it happens to everyone at some point. It has happened to me and that is why I prefer working with actual buyers, those who are approved for a loan and want to go out shopping. If they miss the first appointment or two, I drop them like a bad habit.

Most million dollar buyers are very picky and hard to deal with throughout the transaction. I find working with people in the $500,000 to $700,000 are more reasonable and have done a few transactions before so they know what they are looking for and what to expect.

Not quite like that, but I have met with some "interested buyers" who turn out to be "investor's" working with 5 other agent's.  I stop sending them information as soon as I see the tell tale signs...

These "investor's" are also "in a hurry", and even have the nerve to say---well just get me the code and I'll look myself...UM, NO, not in a heart beat buddy!

Amazing the crap you run into out there isn't it?

Watch out for the creeps too.... there was a realtor woman in Victoria BC who was murdered recently - same kind of a set up.  I know we don't expect this kind of thing to happen here, but it's just a matter of time.  At least you know where he works.... or does he really?  Maybe that was fake.

It is always a good plan to meet the client at the office for the first appointment.
