In an effort to always give back and particularly to my fellow veterans I'm always looking for ways to help the 1% who served get into the home of their dreams, it's the reason I started Semper Find My Home, we lower our commissions to help offset the VA funding fee or just to help put money back into the pockets of a young military couple. So when I heard about the PenFed program yesterday I had to share it with all of you. It's available all over the US, you should check it out in your area.
PenFed foundation is a little known non-profit organization working to help wounded veterans get into homes by giving them money. It's an awesome program that works like this. PenFed addresses the costs associated with closing a home when utilizing a VA loan. If a veteran makes under $55,000 or 80% of your community's median income based on family size you're eligible. It starts with a contribution by the vet as little as $500 and is a 3:1 match, so if you contribute $500 they'll match $1,500 for a total of $2,000 to be applied toward closing. You can contribute all the way up to $1,667 and they'll give you $5,000 for a $6,667 dollars. Awesome right!!! At Semper Find My Home, if the veteran can't afford to contribute anything, we're helping them by contributing for them.
The program was designed to help those serving our National Security who would not be able to afford a mortgage. We just helped a vet today with this program, check out the awesome smile on their face in front of their new home. Please forward this onto your mortgage lenders to make them aware of this great program.
