I always wondered how they got there????

I do a lot of inspections of waterfront bulkheade properties.  I see bulkheaders making repairs and building new bulkheads all the time.  The houses ar quite close together so most of the excavation has to be done from a  barge.  I always wondered how they got the barge to the house.  I was lucky enough to be doing a bulkhead inspection when one came around a bend getting pushed by....what looked like a tin can that had a large deisel engine.  Took some pics.

I guess now we all know the answer to that question.  We don't have a lot of bulkheaded properties here.

Gene,

 Thanks for stopping by.

One thing this picture does not show is how hearty the bulkhead builders are up here.  They work year round.  It was about 35 degreesF on this open plain with a stiff steady wind at about 15 to 20 mph.  Makes me happy to be an HI.

A tin can with a diesel engine.  Cute description.  Looks they took a while to get there.

Erby,

It sounded like the engine was goingh at full capacity, and this thing was only movin' at about 5 knots.  Not real fast!
