The Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is a major pillar of the community, entering its nineteenth year in June. Imagine farmers offering the freshest and most succulent produce you have ever tasted, crafters and artisans displaying some of the most intricate and interesting pieces you have ever seen, and food vendors hawking the most delicious smelling food on the planet. Even a regular day at this fantastic market can qualify as a great outing for your family, but this market also over a dozen special market days. You will not want to miss the Mothers' and Fathers' Day events, which feature potato golfing, a sport unique to the Kelowna area, as well as other fun games and prizes. The Market's Birthday Party is good fun with free entertainment and free cake or cupcakes for all. There are a number of kids' days where the little ones are made to feel special with treats, prizes and children's entertainment. Don’t miss the special food festivals, such as the seasonal Cherry, Corn, Pumpkin and Apple Festivals. The Kelowna Farmers' and Crafters' Market operates outdoors from April to October, and then moves into the Parkinson Rec Centre for the winter months. Hours of operation are Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM.
The Rutland Centennial Flea Market
With over two thousand visitors to this market every week, the Rutland Centennial Flea Market is the largest flea market in Central Okanagan. The market is open every Sunday from 8 AM to 1 PM for the vendors to show their wares and for the public to grab some great deals. You can find everything from antique collectibles to stainless steel toasters. If you want it, chances are one of the vendors has it. You also do not want to miss Rutland Centennial's special days. Every spring, Rutland holds its annual May Days, with carnival rides for the young and the brave, and great food vendors to tantalize your taste buds. There is also a parade and an open stage. In September, they do it all again for their September Days, only they add pumpkins and scarecrows. Rutland also hosts an annual antique and collectible show, which is a must see for anyone interested in acquiring or simply admiring a wide range of old, rare and exquisite items. You’ll find the Rutland Centennial Flea Market and the Rutland May Days festivities at Rutland Centennial Park.
