Your First Impression Feature
Yes, it’s that time of year for anyone living in the southeastern part of the country to think about the maintenance of their First Impression feature; the front lawn. I realize that our northern neighbors may snicker a bit at this post since they are still looking out at a good amount of snow, but turn away if needed.
The majority of homes here have Bermuda grass in the front of their homes. Bermuda is popular due to the full sun requirements and being very drought resistant. It’s time now, actually we are at the deadline, to put down the pre-emergent for the summer grasses. The purpose of the pre-emergent is to help fight off the weeds when the Bermuda grass starting to green out. Remember, you don’t want to do any fertilizing on the summer grasses like Bermuda until they are 50% green.
