New York City Department of Sanitation has a recycle electronics program, along with donating gently used clothing and linens and free high quality compost and discounted compost bins, for New York City residents.
Check out there web site www.ncy.gov/wasteless or www.nyccompost.org
You can dispose of your old computers and laptops, monitors, printers and scanners, keyboards and mice, tv's vcr's, dvr's dvd players and even cell phones.
Clothing and linens also can be disposed of, pants, dresses, shirts, sweaters, shoes, handbags, belts, etc.
Linens, blankets, towels, sheets, curtains, tablecloths, only clean gently used clothing and linens.
Compost bins and high quality compost for your garden; NYC residents only, can get free compost, just bring a shovel and some bags or cans. You can make your own compost at home in a bin purchased for only $20.00. Saves on garbage and great for your lawn or garden.
Save this date of the Staten Island Fresh Kills event. Saturday and Sunday April 12 & 13, 8 AM to 2 PM. If you want a bin, get there early because one year I got there after all the bins were gone. Maybe they will have extra this year. Enjoy the spring.
