Why You Should Hold a Saturday or Sunday Open House

The Natick real estate market is extremely busy, so sellers are opting to hold open houses on Saturdays and Sundays just to accommodate the interest.

If you are trying to sell your home, this is excellent news as it means that you’ll most likely get lots of offers and be able to sell your home quickly. When you hold weekend open houses, you’ll also benefit from some extra perks.

Accommodating to People who Work During the Week

Weekend open houses are easier for people who work 40-hour workweeks to attend. Buyers who have packed schedules and find it hard to tour homes may be able to attend weekend open houses, so you’ll have the chance to show your home to more potential buyers.

Weekend open houses also allow buyers to spend some time looking at your home and asking questions, without being in a hurry to get back to work. Instead of trying to see your house and get a good idea of what it has to offer during their lunch break, they will be more relaxed and have plenty of time to spend in your home.

Attracts Passers-by

In many neighborhoods, people are out and about and running errands more often on the weekend than they are during the week. This means that you’ll be able to attract people who may not have been planning to attend your open house, but drive past it and decide to stop by.

Take advantage of this by putting signs and banners in your yard to get peoples’ attention and even using signs throughout the neighborhood to publicize your open house.

You’ll see more Serious Buyers

Weekend open houses also tend to attract more serious buyers, as those who aren’t interested in making an offer or buying quickly won’t spend their time off from work or their family time searching for a home. You might actually have a better chance of getting an offer after a weekend open house because those who attend will be more serious about buying a home.

Open houses are an excellent way to promote and sell your home, as they give potential buyers the chance to see exactly what it has to offer, ask questions and envision themselves living in the home. As they walk through your rooms they will picture their own furniture there and decide if the home and layout will work for their needs, so hosting open houses is an effective way to get more offers.

When you work with a real estate agent, she will take care of planning and hosting an open house for you. She’ll help you plan the dates and times and then even advertise the open house so you’ll get lots of buyers to attend. Your agent will also host the event for you so you can leave the house for the afternoon and let her show your home and answer questions from potential buyers.
