Kiawah Island Pet Expo 2008

Pets, round up your people and come out to the beautiful Night Heron Park on Kiawah Island for the 2008 Pet Expo on Saturday, April 5, from 11 am to 3 pm.

The expo may be on Kiawah, but it is open to all pet lovers in the Charleston area -- just ask for a pass at the Kiawah Island main gate.  This year's expo will include:

• Meet-and-greet with local dog and cat rescues
• Presentation demonstrations on training, nutrition and health.  Even information on choosing the right breed for your lifestyle.
• Adoption applications and pre-screenings.  (Sorry, but because of the screening requirements, no actual adoptions will be permitted.)
• Games and live entertainment
• Great Prizes!  Advance raffle tickets are on sale at the KICA administrative offices and the Sandcastle.  They will also be available at the event.

This expo provides a great opportunity to "help people understand the importance of matching breed to lifestyle, that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, and how addressing behavioral issues will make life for you and your pet so much more enjoyable," advises Tammy McAdory, executive director of the Kiawah Island Community Center.

So don't miss your chance to spend a day at the park while learning more about your pet and helping other pets in need.  All proceeds for the Pet Expo will be donated to participating shelters and rescues to help those special animals who give so much and ask so little.
