Happy 25th Birthday to the Creation of the Internet

Today, March 12, 2014 is the 25^th Birthday of the INTERNET.

Google posted this today and how remarkable that they received a copy of his original post. On the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web, Google shared this guest post from Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the web.

On March 12, 1989, Berners-Lee distributed a plan to improve information flows: “a ‘web’ of notes with links between them. He reflected on the past, present and future of the web—and encouraged the rest of us to fight to keep it free and open. His invention certainly changed the entire world for the better of mankind.

Hi David,

I have been on for a half hour and no problems. I hadn't heard that AL GORE invented it but looked it up right now so I understand....ha ha ha. FYI I have been to Alaska & Canada 3 times and they swear that it will be billions of years before the Ice Glaciers shrink a foot or so but Al wants us to send money to save the Polar Bears and the Glaciers. Alaska doesn't seem to think they are in any danger. Sorry I digressed off the Internet subject. Thanks for stopping.

Hi Gloria,

I remember we had AOL in 1996 and that was my first experience with the internet. My daughter was 7 and already had internet classes (Kindertots) for 4 years by then. She knew more than I did. She came home one day about 4 and said she was having mouse lessons the next day! I had no idea what a mouse was but soon learned as we all did.

I remember the internet in 93 or 94 only because my daughter took 'Kindertots' in daycare but I didn't have it until 96 or 97. We have come a long way haven't we.
