6 Spring Changes that Instantly Boost Your Home’s Curb Appeal

It might not feel like it quite yet, but spring will be here before we know it. Most homes are naturally more attractive when their yards are lush and green and their landscaping is in full bloom. Here are six easy ways to take advantage of the spring season and increase your home’s curb appeal.

Clear out and Cut Back

Before you list your Natick home for sale, clear our winter debris to make your gardens look more attractive. Rake away dead leaves, sticks and remove dead plants.

Cut back trees, overgrown plants and shrubs to make them look sharp and polished. Of course, you still want your landscaping to look full, but tame your plants so they look well taken care of.

Fill the Garden

Once the dead plants are gone and you have trimmed overgrown plants, you can start adding new ones. Bring dormant plants back to life and fill in empty spaces with new greenery or flowers.

Don’t forget that you can also fill your garden with flowerpots and planters. This is a simple way to change the way your yard looks without having to completely redo your landscaping. It’s also an easy way to add some pops of color throughout your yard.

Touch up Where Needed

Now is the perfect time to make sure things like your deck, outdoor furniture, fences and yard decorations look their best. Touch them up with paint and make repairs where needed.

Even these small updates can make a big difference and tell potential buyers that your home is in great condition and encourage them to come see the inside.

Rethink Your Porch

The front door and porch are the focal point of many houses, so take advantage of the space and make it work for you. Consider repainting your front door and use things like a doormat, wreath, potted plants, outdoor furniture and other decorations to make your front porch look warm and welcoming.

Repair Your Home’s Exterior

While you are working in your garden and making your front porch more attractive, don’t neglect your home’s exterior. When the outside of your home looks immaculate, it will attract more buyers who will be excited to see what the inside has to offer.

Make sure windows, screens, doorknobs, shutters, siding, paint and other outdoor elements are all in working condition and look their best. This could mean adding a fresh coat of paint or it could mean replacing your porch light.

Homes with excellent curb appeal attract more buyers, interest and offers. You can take advantage of the spring weather by making sure your garden, yard features and home’s exterior are in top condition. As you do this, your home will stand out on your street, and even among other listings, so you can sell it faster.
