Grant, thanks for reading and visiting my blog, there are so many interactive apps, that you can now control your home from work to use less energy and be cozy and ready for you when you get home
Good informative post Alex, I think you are right. Expense up front but mtheir pay for themselves over the long run.
I love some of the suggestions you've made here and the way you've tied it into St. Patty's Day.
A green house makes sense any time of year. Another great way to save energy is to install a Nest thermostat ... can be adjusted with your smart phone or computer and very easy to use!
Beautiful "pot of gold" of an idea for a tie-in to do good in the world! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Love and light,
Laura
Tammie,
Thanks for stopping by and reading, funny how we sometimes think of things and have those a ha moments.
Maureen,
I was contemplating writing about that in the blog, those things are amazing, can you believe Google bought them and is getting into the home applicance business
Larua,
Thanks for stopping by, I always look forward to the love and light comment. Back at ya![]()
Alex, I think this should be an ultimate goal for homeowners. It does require more up front costs. Paying ten dollars for what used to be a fifty cent light bulb, can be expensive. However, in the long run it does save on the initial investment.
Michael,
You're exactly right, remember when the long term light bulbs first came out, they've come down in price and last several years. I'd say the ROI is well worth it, thanks for stopping by and commenting
I have been watching those Nest thermostats for over a year and finally ordered one on Friday, can't wait for it to get here. It is still cold out today, but before I know it I'm sure the AC will have to be turned on and we all know what that does to the electric bill.
Stefan,
Thanks for stopping by and sharing, let me know how that goes, they're an awesome product, no wonder, its owned and run by Google
A Nest thermostat is a must have for anyone with a vacation rental. It's great for controlling the thermostat when the guests leave. You can control the temperature remotely. Big cost savings!
Laura,
I'm glad to see you're using it and have found out how much money they can save you. Thanks for reading and stopping by my blog
Great way to incorporate environmental awareness with the St. Patrick Day's celebration. I support this ideal and I hope that a lot would be convinced that going green can do wonders in our lives. And that Nest Thermostat is really one cool stuff!
John,
Thanks for the commnets, I thought it was pretty catchy myself. The Nest Thermostat is by far one of the coolest gadgets out there
Like the tip on the thermostat. Going to check it out. When I replace I will go green. Looking at solar panels now.
Bill,
Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog. I'm glad you're going to check out the NEST thermostat, they rock and likewise with the solar panels
Alex - I am all for saving and I am a techie who loves interactive especially if there is an App.
