I love spring. ABSOLUTELY love spring.
Here in Jacksonville Beach, FL, we get spring a little bit differently than others: some years we have a great long spring, other years we have a very short spring, and go right into Simmer Season. No, that is not a typo: our summers are simmer time to me. It's hot, humid, and if there is no sea breeze, you feel tres warm.
I see spring as most others do: a time for renewal, re-engagement, re-energize. It's almost impossible not to with the birds chirping, the trees & plants showing their green sprigs of new life.
Here is my list of ideas for Springing Into A New Attitude:
- Read more books. I used to read a lot more than I do now, and I miss it. It's healthy for the mind, and it is a great conversation starter.
- Workout more consistently. A few years ago, I competed in a sprint trialthlon, and I worked out 6-7 days per week. My intensity has fallen off since then, but some friends & I recently agreed to do a sprint tri relay, so I'll have to get back to swimming, which I love to do. This will put me in a different circle yet again, which is always good for us, both personally & professionally.
- Take Sundays off. I've had this as a standard for most of my career, but sometimes will make exceptions for out of town buyers. I've partnered up with agents for various properties over the past year, and will look for someone specific or a pair of agents to cover my business on Sundays. We need to take days off to recharge ourselves, and be able to give 100% the other days of the week.
