Plumbing issues and a "what now" thought.
Just about every single home owner has ran into this issue when remodeling a home.
"All I wanted to do is change out this or that and find other issues that needed to be repaired".
I was looking at my friend's home offering a bit of advice on how to install some new fangled vinyl flooring from a big box store.
He had bought this home from the builder which also lived in the home for several years before he retired. I advised on how the best way to install the floor coverings, but then I noticed the way the washer's plumbing was ran.
I told him there was an issue with the way the plumbing drain was installed. He looked at me in a confused look on his face. I told him there was no "P" trap in the line. But maybe just maybe there was one just below the floor. Some times they did install the trap just below the floor under the home.
After taking a quick look at the crawl space and seeing only a 90 degree fitting. An "Uh oh" moment set in. I was informing the friend about the reasons for a "P" trap and his wife comes over and says "After you get the flooring and wall back in, I have a couple of other things you need to do today".
I told her, "He won't have time. There are some changes he needs to make with this plumbing here".
She looked at me and said. "Then he will be busy next weekend too".
Never know what you may run into when doing that small remodeling job.
Have a great day Every One.
