Debra: I bet those footings go really deep especially in that moist soil. We are seeing more of these in California.
We want one of them in our backyard. Our gas provider is asking the powers to be to get a 40% increase in fees. Isn't that nice... back to electric.

Hi Debra, we have hundreds of them within twenty miles! I think they are great! Out of curiosity, where was this taken?
We have a lot of those windmills here in California. Often when I drive through a portion of our state by the name of Altamont Pass, I feel like I'm flying with a flock of enormous birds.
We see a lot of these fields out on the eastern part of our state where it's flat and the wind always seems to blow. I think this is a great way to get power. Great photo.
Debra, this reminds me of a trip my husband and I took to southern California a number of years ago. We flew into the Los Angeles airport, rented a car and drove down to the Santa Ana-Huntington Beach area. It was a one day trip and very limited time, so around midnight we parked our car in a quiet drive facing a large open field. I Around 5 in the morning, still dark outside, we awoke and still half asleep faced an open field that looked similar to your photo - with hundreds of similar windmills in front of us. We looked at one another not knowing if we were being attacked by aliens. Scared the wits out of us. We certainly laughed later.

Hi Debra. I just saw a whole field of these sources of power on our city's Northeast side of town. We are beginning to see more and more of them everywhere.
Debra, I've seen dozens and dozens of these in between Arizona and the Border of California. They are enormous and So interesting to see them up close.
Debbie I saw some of these in MA. These things are massive and popping up all over the place.

Bruce - This was in Atlantic City, NJ and in NY we don't see these anywhere near where I live.
