Florida - 47th State In The Nation For Taxes

Florida is the 47th state in the nation for taxes. Yes, you heard that right! We do not pay a state income tax and we are in the 47th place nation wide. If that isn't a reason to consider relocation to the Sunshine State, I don't know what would be.

Remember, you don't have those enormous heating bills down here either and while we do pay for air conditioning, most months you can cool your home with ceiling fans and open windows.

Yes, Florida is THE relocation destination and one good reason is that 47th place rating when it comes to taxes!

Barbara Jo,

Low taxes is an excellet selling point regarding moving to Florida. Now that there is some relief to the flood insurnace nonsense, people can once again think about living near or on the water in Florida.

Barbara Jo,

Low taxes are a great selling point.  I would imagine that NJ propbably is in the top 3 of the worst taxes.

Barbara-Jo I have heard this mentioned many times in the past. Many people want to move to Florida for the weather and the lack of taxes.

BarbaraJo- we moved from my home state of Texas where there are no state taxes to Florida... no state taxes.  Wouldn't have it any other way.  And, how can you beat our weather!

Tennessee has no state income tax either. But our sales tax is high, darn it.

That sounds really tempting!  I don't have to use heat or AC where we live and that's a great feeling too.

Good morning Barbara-Jo. That is a very compelling argument and a reason that many move to Florida, but by no means the only reason, as are are many.

We are very lucky here in Florida that we don't pay state income tax.
