The majority of the courses are par 72, 18 hole courses with three having 27 holes, three having two-18 hole championship courses and two having 3 courses to play.

These are followed by The Oaks Club, Prestancia TPC and Laurel Oak Country Club which each have 2 - 18 hole courses.
Then there is Heron Creek in North Port, Pelican Pointe in Venice, and University Park Country Club that each have 3 - 9 hole courses for a total of 27 holes of play.
Gated Golf Course Communities in Sarasota would include: The Founders Club, Heritage Oaks, Lakewood Ranch Country Club, Laurel Oak Country Club, Misty Creek Country Club, Prestancia, Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club, The Concessions, The Oaks Club, University Park Country Club, and The Venetian Golf and River Club.
These communities all have a guard at the gate house entrance posted 24 hours a day in order to gain entrance to the neighborhood.
Homes in each of these Sarasota Golf Course Communities can vary from condo buildings to attached villas all the way in size to multi-million dollar large estate homes with incredible views. In a few of these communities membership is mandatory in order to own a home.
