The groomers are still running and the riding is outstanding……great spring….the cold weather has kept the trails hard and the forecast for the weekend is seasonable and will make for some awesome weekend riding.

STAY ON THE MARKED TRAIL…..EVERY PROJECT IS COMMENTING ON SLEDS VEERING OFF THE MARKED TRAILS…PLEASE STAY ON THE MARKED TRAIL. WATCH FOR WILDLIFE….ITS THERE 24/7 SORRY….MY BAD THE TWEEK PORTAGE MADE WAS IN 90 THEY SHORTENED THE REROUTE….WATCH FOR SIGNS LOGGING RT 81 SWEDES TRAIL…ACTIVE ON TRAIL….PLEASE USE CAUTION LOGGING ITS 81/85 BEFORE OX BOW RD USE CAUTION RT 100 ON THE CONNOR/CASWELL END ACTIVE LOGGING USE CAUTION                                                                                                                      

Trail Info

ITS 85 Everyone will be out by Friday. No reported problem areas. The riding on 85 has been great all winter.

71A and 71D will also be groomed.

ITS 83 Everyone will be out on this trail as well by Friday. Remember to watch for signs as there have been reroutes.

ITS 81 We are good on this one. Projects have been out this week and will be out again to freshen up for the weekend….. remember it ends at the Rt 105 intersection east of Squa Pan and IS NOT OPEN FROM RT 105 TO ITS 85

ITS 92 No problems here……everyone is grooming with plenty of snow.

ITS 90 Everyone reporting grooming from Portage through to Ft Faifield.

ITS 88 Ashland and Aroostook River are grooming and this is in good shape.

ITS 86 Ox Bow and Meduxneakeag both have been out and should be set up in good shape for the weekend. 71-D is groomed on the Ox Bow and Shin Pond end. And remember the Homestead Lodge in Ox Bow now has gas during daylight hours.

ITS 105 Van Buren up and running along with Washburn, Aroostook River, Chapman, Walker Siding …….but remember you can’t go west on ITS 81 at the intersection east of Squa Pan so keep that in mind when planning.

ITS 120 Allagash and Eagle Lake have been out this week. Go left at the ITS 92 intersection on to Allagash and Dickey and try the Glazier Lake Loop plenty of snow.

Rt 100 Caswell has been out and remembr coming from Caswell there are two branches of this trail one goes north out of Caswell and one goes west. They both intersect Rt 89 one closer to Rt 94 and the other closer to the Madawaska River…….watch for markings and on the one that goes west further south of Caswell there is a very active logging operation so use caution. 

Rt 89 Groomed north to Rt 94 and in good shape. PLEASE NOTE that Rt 100 now intersects Rt 89 in two locations so watch for signs.

Rt 94 Open and groomed for a great ride between ITS 81 and Rt 105. Rt 79 to Long Lake off ITS 105 is groomed and remember Rt 96 veers off 79 and rejoins ITS 81 or you can brave the lake ride for those wanting to access the St John Valley and local eateries via Long Lake.

Rts 73, 73B, 73C, 96 Daigle and Sly Brook have been out and groomed so this will be all set for the weekend.

Meduxneakeag Ramblers Breakfast Saturdays 6-9 a.m. at the clubhouse until the end of March.

Washburn Trailrunners Breakfast /Lunch Saturdays 7 a.m.-3p.m. Sunday 7 a.m.-noon at the clubhouse until the end of March.

St Francis Sno Angels Saturday Meals …homecooked meals….stop by off ITS 92.

March 23

Mars Hill Club Annual Hot Dog Roast 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Townsends Camp off ITS 83 follow the signs.

Cold Mtn Club Breakfast 7-11 a.m. at the Grand Isle Community Center.

March 29

Auction and Chop Suey Supper at the Ox Bow/Masardis Clubhouse 5 p.m.

April 13

Breakfast at the Ft Fairfield Clubhouse 7-10 a.m.

You have that right Gabe... skiing in shirt sleeves and getting sun burn with the swish swish is something else with the long views, jaw dropping scenery... but your blue green water is pretty snazzy too! A powerful attraction along with seeing Mickey and Minnie if you have kids.
