Part of the reason I am supporting the Turtle Bay-Sheraton Hotel Project is this:

THE CHAMBER TESTIFIES IN FAVOR OF THE SHERATON HOTEL PROJECT    City Council, March 4, 2014   

"The Chamber of Commerce currently has 930 members who employ approximately 13,000 individuals, which makes us the largest business organization in the north state.  

The Chamber of Commerce has consistently supported the Turtle Bay project since its inception precisely because it is good for business. Our members have benefitted by the large number of visitors who have come to Redding and have yearly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in our community. 

In the case of the Sheraton Hotel, we have previously testified as to the importance of this project to the entire array of amenities we have here in Redding and the surrounding areas. 

The Chamber is always talking about jobs and, in this case, there are approximately 40 construction jobs and 70 permanent jobs. The income to the City's general fund from the hotel property tax, sales tax and hotel tax would be approximately $700,000 per year. The expenditures back to the community from a 4-star hotel, as this Sheraton would be, would exceed $4.5 million dollars per year."   Frank J. Strazzarino, Jr.,
