#21 What would you do?

You sold a home turn key furnished per inventory. You do a walk through with the buyers 3 day before the close of escrow and all items on the list are in the house. Escrow closes and the buyers call you and tell you that there is missing 32 inch TV, 5 beach towels, and 6 champagne glasses.

What would you do?

1. Contact the listing agent and tell her she needs to get the items or they will file a small claims suit.

2. Ask the buyers how much credit they want and try to get the ot her agent to pay. If the other agent will not pay 100% get her to split it with you.

3. Tell the clients to do a small claims and hope they return the items

4. Tell the clients to forget it. This is not big deal. They got a good deal on the home and the TV was 5 years old anyway.

5. Other ideas?

Lori,

This is such an unnecessary situation. I don't understand why sellers do this, so frustrating. I'd probably contact the other agent first and go from there.
