Subject line veracity or the lack thereof.

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Subject line veracity or the lack thereof by Richard WeisserThey say that first impressions are important.

So when I get an email from an unknown sender, my first impression is generally predicated on the subject line. If a subject line has some bearing on my business, I generally open the email.

Of course, scammers and spammers realize this and they often tempt with misleading or utterly false subject lines. That fact is readily apparent as soon as the email is opened.

Why in the world would anyone choose to do business with an entity that is fundamentality dishonest?

In the first five seconds of your interaction you already know the standard operation procedure for the business. And it isn’t a pretty picture.

Does anybody ever really fall for this?

Richard, I do exactly the same thing you do. Sorry, it's just foolish to open every e-mail.

Mal ware and virus laden e-mail was everywhere when I went on the Internet in 1994.

I still practice the same precautions I learned then.

Richard that is a perfect picture to hold in our mind of spammers and scammers either online or off. I have no time for them and certainly will not be interested in doing business with them - ever.
