Lightbulb Moments --- When Buyers Say Aaaah, Now I Understand

 

Lightbulb Moments - REALTOR Michael Jacobs 818.516.4393 cellIt was one of those marathon showing schedule days -- you know when there is a single day to introduce the buying process, get an overview of the community(or two) and see some properties.   

 

When working with out-of-town buyers, you don’t always know how much information and “stuff” to plan for a given day(or half-day).   

 

Will I overwhelm them?  Scare them?  Will they feel I didn’t share enough?   And of course, in my market the fear of sticker stock -- my gosh, Abner -- we’re really not in Kansas anymore.  

 

Well, I recently had one of those marathon moments -- one day to get an idea of what Pasadena offers in a difficult to "find and hopefully buy" price point.   A couple of phone conversations combined with some emails exchanged is great but hardly like that first face-to-face meeting.

 

Well, on this particular occasion things were going along pretty well.

 

Then I heard it…

 

Aaaah, now I understand what you were saying….

Well, I know that I would have a problem with the price points in Pasadena.  (Wow, alliteration at its best.)  Michael Jacobs would be there to pick me up off the floor though.  He is the best buyer's agent in town!

Hi Dick - you just never know when it/if it will happen when you meet buyers relocating -- each of our markets has it quirks and charm.

JK - these particular buyers had some pre-conceived ideas based on some online searches -- they quickly understood the location location location concept.

Alexandra and Ron - and while I haven't spent a lot of time in Kansas(just Kansas City for a day or two, as I recall) -- this isn't a slam against any other place than Pasadena or California.  We live in a very diverse country(world) where we can find a bit of happiness anywhere we go.

Sarah and Lester - thank you - very nice thing for you to say(err write).

Dale - both buyers and sellers can say some pretty interesting things...there's a book there somewhere.

I also get that sticker shock face when showing buyers moving from the south or midwest. Sounds like Michael Jacobs works well with first time buyers in Pasadena CA!
