Wordless Wednesday - Spring Gardening
This is the community gardens at Newtown Park next to Park Place active adult center. I took this photo this AM while visiting the park. My friend Don just helped load and distribute all those bags of Cow manure to each plot a day ago. There is a big bin of mulch at the far end ready for the gardeners too. Just waiting for the last freeze day which should be soon. How about you, do you have a garden?

Looks like anawesome garden. I love the fact that you have a community garden in your area. Wish there were more areas with such programs.
Good morning Robert. Looks like someone has a green-thumb. We won't be planting till the first of May due to the high winds that cut into tender vegetation.
Robert: I married a farm girl .. so you can only imagine! When her dad was still on the farm, we always had the best "fertilizer". Nothing tastes better than fresh ...

Trisha, yes it's a real asset. There is a waiting list. John I have experienced high winds when the little seedlings have been first put out, and you are right they don't have a chance. Gene, Gene what can I say? Richard and Beth, gardening is a favorite, rightly so.
Robert, We have very little top soil. The lizards always beat me to the few things I have tried to grow here. I grew up gardening and I love to eat the fresh vegetables. Maybe someday, I will have one again.
Hi Robert, I can just imagine what a follow-up picture of the community gardens of Newtown Park will be. From Chicagoland, you 'go for it.' We should be following soon.
