Garage Office Realtor says Paint the Front Door if you are selling

Here in South Scottsdale the Garage Office Realtor says Paint the Front Door if you are selling your home.  In South Scottsdale we have a lot of older homes and over the years the weather has taken it's toll on the front door, yet when folks get ready to sell their home they over look the value of having a well trimmed out Front Door.

Folks get so focused on what to do on the inside of their home and the backyard that they forget the Front Door.  The Front Door is First Impression and if it looks like a piece of junk that is exactly what the Buyers are expecting to find on the inside, and along with that thought they are upset that they are wasting their time to come and view the home.  So take the door hardware off (if it is old buy some new hardware), prep the door (sanding, caulking, primer paint...whatever is needed), then put on the finishing paint or varnish, put on as many coats of paint or varnish as it takes to make the door look terrific, let the coating thoroughly dry, and then reinstall your door hardware.  Now step back and view your work.  You will be very pleased and you know what?  "Garage Office Realtor says, "Buyers Notice It".

Here in South Scottsdale AZ, a service that we provide is to go through the entire home and indentify the spots that need modified in order to enhance the value of the home without having to spend a lot of money.

Jim, This is a great post. I love that you actually give the steps to do it right. I would pass it along to my husband, but it may not go over well. Anyway, we look at our fornt door every Spring and decide whether it needs some TLC. Any seller in south Scottsdale would be wise to hire you!

Excellent advice.  If the entry looks uncared for it may put the potential buyer off right from the start and cause them to be more critical through the rest of the showing.  First impressions matter!
