Is facebook Selling Ads on Our Ads?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty TN R.E. License 292369

Seriously, I bought a facebook ad and they sold ads on my ad-space.  What's up with that?  Am I wrong to feel that this is not a good thing?  When I pay for an ad I expect my linked text to be THE ONLY linked text on the page.  What are your thoughts?

Also curious to know what your thoughts are in general about promoting a post or page on FB?  Is it worth the time, effort, and $$ spent?

Who has found a great formula for a successful ad that they don't mind sharing?  Lastly, if you do use FB for advertising is there a premo time or days to run the promotion?

Since they screwed up Craigslist I am in need for more ideas for directing traffic to my site.  I know, I know, I should just get on Active Rain and blog more.  Please share your thoughts, I'm sure many are interested your answers.

I'm not sure whats happening with facebook.  I did some adds but also had misc. $$ pulled from my account.  They are still trying to figure out what they spent $150 on.  I don't know if it will ever get credited back.  They charged me prior to placing the add (which I didn't know that wasn't how they worked so didn't think anything of it) and then they charged again for the add after it ran.  Not very happy with facebook right now.  And I am having issues with matching up the numbers to my website of how many hits the blogs are getting verses how many facebook is charging for.  Example facebook counts 100 clicks on a blog.  Yet website says 29.  Not sure what is up with that.  Still trying to figure it out.

It matters to us as much as it matters to you.

As I said Michele, I am a novice at these FB ads. The problem is where and how do we voice our concerns when they do these things?  After giving up on Craig's List with the frustration of the "CL" Police, I am not sure I am up for that with FB.

Mike: It really depends on the content and the intention. If you have a high end listing you want to get as much exposure as possible, I would think FB Ads are well worth the cost. If it's promoting a niche or a particular blog post I believe there are more effective ways to do that (G+, Infographics, Pinterest, etc.).

I'm not sure what the answer is, but it's obvious as long as there is additional space, FB will sell additional ads. I don't think you could get just your paid ad on a page by itself.

There's a lot of things to learn here. I just started with Facebook ads. I just hope that I will not be getting unnecessary charges.
