But we don't know their motivation maybe they already purchased a house and are worried about carrying two mortgages; maybe their moving date is coming closer and the moving truck will be there shortly; maybe its a relocation and one of the spouses doesn't want to be left behind; maybe there's been a death in the family, maybe the owners are separating, maybe, maybe, maybe - YOU NEVER KNOW!
Last month I was representing the seller and she was offended by the low ball offer and didn't want to counter. I said, please counter, the worse that can happen is that we can meet somewhere in the middle or maybe at the price you are ready to accept.
No, No, No - I wont' be insulted but finally after a lot of patience and pursuasion she countered at $2,000.00 less than her asking price. The buyers went up $5,000.00; she countered back at $5,000 less and guess what we came to an agreement and everyone was happy. WIN-WIN. Remember Ottawa Buyers we are in a Buyers' market at this time.
